Being referred to as the Harvard of the south, Rice University is known for its academic excellence and high level research. To a tourist, the most attractive point of Rice is its beautiful campus -- the Mediterranean style buildings that are unique in US and attract thousands of tourists each year. Locally, Rice is a favorate place for new couples taking wedding pictures.

The Art Museum is another attraction on Rice campus. The Rice Stadium was the venue of Super Bowl VIII in 1974, when the Miami Dolphins beat the Minnesota Vikings, 24-7.
